Cooking classes, group or customized, are held at the Diadema Cooking School,
located just a few steps away from the Relais.
Inspired by our Food & Wine philosophy at Relais Villa Olmo we offer a variety of activities and experiences each carefully crafted to enable our guests to enjoy the pleasures of authentic Tuscan lifestyle and discover the Chianti hillside and Florence.
To give our guests the chance of taking an insider’s view of Tuscany’s gastronomy and precious wines, and the thrill of a hands-on experience, we create one-of-a-kind customized cooking classes focusing on one or more of Tuscan and/or Italian staples.
Following our charismatic chefs’ tips guests will be able to master the art of mixing the dough and rolling out a picture-perfect pizza, learn the best combination of flavors for pasta sauces, and become pros in the preparation of a full traditional Tuscan meal!
On the marble tables of our Diadema Cooking School your hands will soon get dirty with flour as you prepare your pizza dough.
Everyone will be able to prepare his/her own home-made Pizza from scratch: prepare the dough, put your favorite toppings on your top and there we go, “in forno!”.
While the dough rests a little while, you’ll learn about Gelato (Italian Ice-Cream) making and its origins, and observe a demonstration of home-made gelato preparation.
In an informal and friendly atmosphere, you’ll enjoy eating your marvelous handmade dinner and a delicious gelato.
Right where it has been produced for centuries, you’ll taste renowned Chianti Wine while you cook and eat your pizza.
At the end of the dinner, to conclude the wonderful evening, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of bright and shining Florence by night, from the height of your gentle Tuscan Hill.
Don’t miss this unique Resort food experience in Chianti and learn how to make pizza and gelato just like the Italians.
Duration: Approx 3h
A comfortable minivan will take you to Florence on a beautiful 25 min drive.
Take a little walk in the city center and visit Florence Farmers’ Market and discover all its beautiful colors and authenticity, getting to know the butchers, bakers and farmers which Florentines buy their ingredients from. Back to Impruneta, you will have the opportunity to express your culinary art under the attentive guidance of the Chef.
The menu may slightly vary depending on the season and the fresh ingredients available, but among various other things it will usually include also two different types of home-made pasta from scratch (i.e. pappardelle and ravioli) and a dessert.
The class will end with a delicious lunch that will prove your improved skills in the kitchen, accompanied by tastings of different wines and a final typical Tuscan dessert wine..
